Are you seeking consistent in-home childcare? Who doesnt want their children being cared for by someone with that “loving mimi” type of personality and kind character? Someone who truly loves and cares about the well being of a child! Who will meet the specific needs of the family’s schedules and routines, within their own home…and always willing to adjust a schedule in order to meet the needs of ever changing family dynamics and responsibilities.
We all search for child care for our children with people we can trust to keep them safe and many learn too late that what they thought was not at all what they got. Well, look no further. I guarantee the availability wont last long….and with childcare in our area being so high in demand, someone is going to claim her very quickly. Its a rare opportunity to get the chance to claim her yourselves. As the children of her latest family have reached an age when they no longer require the supervision, after 5 years with full day child care, she now has the rare opportunity to offer her services to someone else seeking the kind of care you’d only find with someone as special as she is, who will treat your children as if they were her own gramdbabies.

I have had this woman care for my 13 yo disabled child on many occasions and can tell you that ive never felt safer and more comfortable leaving my child with anyone before, and my child can be difficult to handle.

This woman has raised her own children, has grandchildren and treats all children as if they were her own. Exactly what all parents seek when attempting to secure consistent childcare. I personally give my own recommendations as well as being able to say that she has multiple long term references with consistent, reliable, dependable, trustworthy, safe and loving care being provided, to offer as well. I know because I checked them myself.

Rates will change depending on the number of children and hours of care but I highly recommend you not wait. This woman is like no other. She will work with children to learn the basics. She does art projects and activities with them. They get to create projects for holidays and special keepsakes that last a lifetime. Shes down to earth, accepts everyone as they are. Shes real. Shes full of color and keeps life exciting for young children. She takes them on adventures, whether its in the back yard or at a park.

She doesnt use any kind of drugs, drink or smoke. She has a car, license and insurance. She encourages children to be free to be their best selves and supports them in every way possible to do that. If i needed full time child care, this ad wouldn’t be getting posted. Period! However, I dont and wanted to make sure others got the chance of a lifetime to secure reliable and loving child care for their own babies, knowing they are going to be in the best hands possible, aside from their own.

She does school pick up and drop off if youve got multiple children with different routines and schedules. She can manage the responsibilities of today’s family dynamic and changing routines. Shes flexible and always willing to accommodate.

Aside from how amazing she is, her rates are far below the average Seattle based rates. As of August 2025, the average in-home child care rates for an infant are between 1160 to about 1300 a week. She charges 850 a week for an infant and her rates only change by a couple hundred for additional children….and with all families having different schedules and needs, she is so flexible and willing to adjust her schedule to meet the needs of the family. She is only interested in doing full time and cash payments.

Having a disabled child is difficult when you consider child care…and my childs ability to connect with people is a challenge, however, in this case, my child couldn’t wait to get me out of the house. She loved going places and never hesitated going anywhere with her. She would be the first one in the car. Watching your child respond with so much excitement to go places she feared with anyone else but me, is all the proof I needed. I personally couldnt recommend her highly enough and I know she has multiple long term references to provide.

If you are currently seeking childcare or looking to have child care set up ahead of schedule, I highly highly highly recommend you contact her and get an interview with her. I recommend you not wait because the moment you meet her, you simply feel safe and you KNOW your child is in the hands of someone, outside of yourself, to love, protect, teach and encourage your child like every parent looks for in choosing a care giver for their little ones.
She responds much faster if you leave a message or text simply because she has a randomly busy schedule. This woman was a “god send” for us, and many other families. If youre seeking child care in your own home and need consistency, dependability, honesty and reliability get ahold of her. You wont be disappointed, I promise! She wont be available for long and finding someone as qualified and compassionate as she is, isnt likely going to be available for very long. I assure you, as of this post, she hasnt accepted any future ling term positions yet and is taking one week for herself, but ready to start after the 16th of September. Her name is Dusty and her number is 253-398-5224. (I did get permission from her to post this) She accepts all people, family dynamics, sexual orientation, race, culture and any other label society uses to spread hate….as people….period. She will love your child(ren) and become part of the family. She tends to stay loyal to families for many years so if you miss this opportunity, you likely wont get a chance again. She is the best caregiver we’ve ever had and I wish I needed childcare more consistently because shes just awesome to have around. I cant say enough amazing things about her but I feel blessed to yave found her and gotten a chance to see her work her magic.

Crime and violence in the Delridge area is always a problem. It is not overblown. The reason housing is more affordable is because of the ongoing crime and violence. Don’t discount it or try to convince yourself it’s not as bad as they say. If you’re looking for less expensive than West Seattle you might want to consider Beacon Hill or Burien.

Tips still need to be reported. There is a deduction that can be taken when filing taxes but they are not tax free outright. In my experience, there is always an option to enter a ‘custom’ amount. No one is required to leave a specific amount except in certain cases where tip is added by the establishment, for a large group, etc. Starbucks has the tip options and the option of no tip. Who cares who is watching, I’m not tipping someone who stands in one place and is simply doing their job. Tips are for above and beyond what is expected. And, it shouldn’t be an excuse by employers for not paying a living wage.

Overwhelmed working dad seeks help with household chores. The home is ~2.5k sqft , 3 adults and 1 child. The other 2 adults are disabled and not always able to contribute meaningfully to certain chores. Would love to find someone in Alki/Admiral area to help with regular cleaning and organizing. Kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, dusting, toys, etc.

Thinking maybe 8 hours per week $30 per hour. Happy to negotiate those and feel it out.

Hello. I am interested in your position for either a dog walker or cat sitter, as I have had experience in both areas, especially as a 20+ year cat owner. I enjoy cats and do not mind the clean up process. I am careful with dogs to always keep them on a leash and be aware of any aggressive dogs we might meet on a walk.
I live in the West Seattle Junction and can easily get to other neighborhoods via bus or walking. I am honest, dependable, conscientious in follow through of instructions, and personable with clientele. I also would have no trouble passing a background check. The hours you mentioned of 10 am to 2 pm are workable for me, I can also do overnight pet care, if that is occasionally needed.

Attached above is a proposed new route. This would be VERY useful for people living in the Admiral District who want to go to downtown seattle. It would start out like the 56/57, but then go onto Avalon Way or Delridge Way. While we would still have to transfer to the H/C line, it’s much better and more straight forward than having to go down south to the Alaska Junction. Please DO NOT speak against this. If you don’t like it, please ignore it. I understand there’s more demand in the Alaska Junction, but I’m not the only one complaining about the lack of service in the Admiral District. Downtown Seattle is challenging and requires a detour most of the time. We don’t like doing that! Some people would definitely like this route. I certainly would! It doesn’t have to run night-owl, but I would like at least 5-6AM through 9-10PM every 20 minutes or so kind of like the 50. The arrows represent where what the route does from there doesn’t matter as much as long as it’s productive and King County Metro finds it worth investing.

Whenever the blog has an article about road changes that will impact car drivers always the same commenters applauding the restrictions. What I find most interesting is that those same, if you’ve paid attention to blog posts have talked about their cars. Evidently their hope is that restrictions will only impact “those other” drivers and will leave more room for them.

Hi, West Seattle parents! I’m curious if any of you have tried nature-based or outdoor programs for your preschoolers. I’m a local educator with a passion for outdoor learning, and I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially with the wonderful parks and natural spaces we have here. How do your kids respond to being outdoors, and do you find it beneficial for their learning and development?

Feel free to share any tips or favorite spots for nature play around West Seattle! I’m always looking to connect with others who believe in the power of nature for young learners.

I rarely ride a bicycle, and I never planned to become an outspoken advocate for safer streets. But the senseless death of my husband at the hands of a bad driver on a poorly designed Seattle roadway compels me to speak up.

I urge all Seattle voters to support Proposition 1, the Keep Seattle Moving transportation levy, which will appear on your November general election ballot. It comes too late for Steve, my husband of over 40 years, but approving this sensible transportation package could save the lives of other people who walk, bike, or roll on Seattle’s frequently inhospitable and dangerous streets.

Safety is at the heart of why I support Proposition 1. Thoughtfully crafted by the Seattle City Council and approved by Mayor Bruce Harrell, Keep Seattle Moving funds transportation projects that will enhance our neighborhoods and improve transportation safety for everyone–including drivers.

    Highlights include:
Increased funding for Vision Zero, especially 70 projects to improve traffic safety near Seattle Public Schools.
More bike lanes in South Seattle including a seven-mile protected lane from Capitol Hill to South Beacon Hill.
Upgrades to bridges throughout the city.
Construction of at least 350 new sidewalks in the first four years of levy.

One of the most meaningful aspects of this levy for me is its provision to honor Steve by creating a protected bike lane in West Seattle, where we lived together for more than 40 years until last Dec. 21. That is the day that Steve, a skilled and avid bike rider and longtime supporter of Cascade Bicycle Club, was catastrophically injured while biking in our neighborhood. He died just hours after that horrendous collision.

The Steve Hulsman Memorial Bike Lane is among many infrastructure investments that will benefit current and future generations. These improvements will make our streets safer for everyone, and they carry deep personal significance for me and for my family.

As a recently retired elementary school teacher, I encourage you to think about the many students who deserve safe routes to schools. As a widow and mom, I urge you to think of your family members, friends and neighbors who deserve the right to safely walk, bike, and roll through our neighborhoods.

For those of you who live outside Seattle but commute to work here, please support the Keep Seattle Moving transportation levy by talking with your Seattle friends and co-workers about the necessity of voting YES for Proposition 1. A few things you can do:

Put up a yard sign in support of the levy

Contribute to or volunteer with the Keep Seattle Moving campaign by visiting keepseattlemoving.com.

As a Cascade Bicycle Club ride leader, my husband always prioritized safety for his ride groups. In that same spirit, the Keep Seattle Moving transportation levy supports safety for all and will improve our city by fixing its ailing bridges, building new sidewalks, adding more protected bike lanes, and–most importantly–saving lives. Please join me in honoring Steve’s legacy with your vote to approve Proposition 1.

Trelstad Tree has always been a responsible and reliable Tree Company. You can always get a reliable company to come out and give you an estimate. I should also add that “anonyme” is so right! A tree IS a view, no tree should be topped unless there is an extremely good reason…view is never one of them.
