I know every neighborhood has this problem, but this is for the Arbor Heights area. There are a few people that live in this neighborhood that don’t pick up after their dogs. It’s not that they forgot the bag, they are just lazy worthless piles of crap, like what they leave behind.
It’s illegal, it’s a $54 fine and if your dog isn’t licensed and up to date on their shots, then the fine keeps increasing.
If you see somebody purposefully leaving their dog crap in the area and you know where they live you can report them to Animal Control. Take a picture and report their address or license plate. Sick of selfish worthless people and personally cleaning up after your dogs because you are too lazy to do so. You don’t deserve a pet. . .

I found a great guy who is local, Frank Figueroa of Frank General Contractor. He sent some guys out immediately on a Saturday. Unfortunately, they couldn’t fix the actual problem as the vent is covered by solar panels, but they did fix a couple of shingles while they were up there doing the estimate. Frank and his team are fast, efficient, and willing to help. I’ll be calling them back once the solar panel issue is resolved.

The first windstorm did something to my bathroom roof van and rain is now coming through the ceiling vent. I’m guessing the vent cover is either damaged – or gone. Does anyone know a good, cheap handyman or roofer? I don’t fancy getting on a roof at 75, but finances dictate the loan of a ladder might be the only option.

Does anyone know why West Seattle has so many high rises but zero rooftop bars/restaurants? I thought one might pop up over the years, but most of these apartment buildings just have a hang out area for residents. Is rooftop dining not allowed on these building permits? or has no one thought of that? (Which I highly doubt.)

I know Efesis took a hit when new owners changed it to Greek, and not very good Greek at that.
The good news is Hasan, who owns the building, is back at the helm.
We have gone several times and loved it.
And we have been one of just a couple of tables!
We went on a Friday night and there were only two other tables!

Once a dog bites someone and causes injury, they should go to a farm upstate IMO; regardless of how nice their owner insists they are.

The world, and Seattle in particular, has become far too passive when it comes to pushing back on dog owners for breaking the laws. Every day I see dogs on a beach, in a park that explicitly says ‘no dogs’, or on a seat in a bus.

Unpopular or not, please remember that dogs are, in fact, NOT PEOPLE.

    Hi all,

My lease is up and I’ll be moving at the end of October. Combing through and refreshing 10 websites per day is as demoralizing and exhausting as it sounds, so I’m trying my luck here.

I’m in my mid 30s, work in education, and have good credit and references. My needs are basically quiet, LGBTQ friendly, non-smokers, and everyone pays the rent on time. Hoping for the Delridge/Riverview area, but anything close to the 128 line will work.

I’d love to connect with anyone who is seeking a house share. Are you looking for a punctual, responsible roommate? Know someone who is? Let’s talk!

Control your dogs! I was attacked by a “nice dog” yesterday. The nice dog bit through my pants and a knee brace leaving me with deep puncture wounds and a huge bruise. There was no warning that this nice dog was going to bite despite the owner telling me (afterwards) that the nice dog has a history of bitting people near doorways. I was leaving my building and moved aside to let the owner and the dog in. That’s when I got bit. Holding the door to let this neighbor and his dogs in. Again, no warning that this dog is scared of doorways and will bite people in doorways. I would have happily backed away had I known.

What our team says about the company:

‘Close To Home has been an amazing place for me after leaving a high-stress job. Being outside, exercising, and connecting with animals is the perfect antidote for career burnout and has helped tremendously with my depression and anxiety. Plus, the miles I’m walking have conditioned me enough so I can do all the hikes that seemed out of reach previously.’
