Anyone out there like to tinker with electronics and want to help a gal out?? I have an old bluetooth speaker that I’ve owned for probably 10 years. Bought it from a company that’s no longer a company, so I can’t buy an exact replacement. Here’s what it looks like: https://medium.com/@johnababseh/nudeaudio-super-m-product-review-ffe10b5dd569. It’s been such a great speaker (and great companion on so many adventures!) and I would be sad to just toss it in the trash. Wondering if anyone wants to try to take it apart and put it back together? No heartburn if you can’t, just thought I’d try save one more thing from the landfill and meet a neighbor in the process. For the time, I’d promise baked goods of your choosing! Thanks for considering, West Seattle friends!

Looking for a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath duplex/townhome near an elementary school that’s within walking distance or on a bus like no more than 10 minutes away for under 2000 a month. Or a bottom unit of an apartment. In the West Seattle/White Center or Burien/South Park area with washer and dryer. Thank you for taking the time to read my forum.

I have an idea for a group that I’d like to build, and given that you are all my neighbors, I am hoping that some of you might be interested in the joining me to brainstorm ways to build community resilience. I won’t go too much into what inspired this idea, at least not here, but an image of a Golden Web came to me, and I remembered the amazing golden orb weaver spider whose web shines in the sun with strands that rival steel in tensile strength. At a time when our social safety net is being hatcheted, it might be up to us to weave an imperfect replacement. Each one of us holds a strand of the web. The idea is part mutual aid, part disaster preparedness, part skills trade, maybe some bartering, plus anything else we can devise together.

If you’d like to join, please email me at: thegoldenwebcollective@proton.me. I hope to meet some of you, and to weave together.

    Your neighbor,
    Christy C

It was my grandmother’s and you stoled it. You climbed my apartment balcony entered my kitchen window, went into my bedroom and ransacked everything. The one thing that had memories, photos, you stoled. It was all that I had of my grandmother. Every Friday, I scour the web hoping that a pawn shop has it…it’s been over ten years, since you broke into my apartment on California Avenue and I still hate you. A vintage charm bracelet, photo charms, and silver charms.

he was waiting around for over 2 hrs, he was there when we showed up to do our laundry, was there when we switched the loads out 45 minutes later- and was still there another hour & 1/2 when we came back to pick up the loads in the dryer, if i do laundry I don’t leave the items for over 2 hours & take up a machine that someone else might want to use. I get in there & switch it out, that was kind of rude.

    • Experience communicating with others via Slack

    Benefits and Perks:
    • Highly competitive industry pay

    • Work at a company that respects you as an individual and creates healthy boundaries

What our team says about the company:

‘Close To Home has been an amazing place for me after leaving a high-stress job. Being outside, exercising, and connecting with animals is the perfect antidote for career burnout and has helped tremendously with my depression and anxiety. Plus, the miles I’m walking have conditioned me enough so I can do all the hikes that seemed out of reach previously.’

we were there on Sat & the machine was locked up & the owner asked us if the clothes were ours – he said someone overloaded the machine (this was at 2:00 Sat afternoon) – that is why the error message came up & locked the washer up. we did our laundry & came back to put items in dryer – owner was still there – this was 2 hours later – the washer was still locked up. I have used this laundry mat for years & have never had issues – i know that if you overload the washer that is what happens.

Hey all. I was finally able to rescue my clothes! But it was a huge ordeal!

I spoke to the owner of the cofre place next door and they said things like these have been happening over the last decade and the owner of that place is completely AWOL…

I brought my toolbox to unscrew a panel to get to the back of the machine thinking if I could unplug it maybe it would unlock. But it being an industrial machine it had a thick cable going to the back of a column I couldn’t access…

I tried calling customer service from the manufacturers and got a “please call back during business hours” message!

Jeez… finally started to experiment just pressing all the buttons, holding them for long periods of time… I don’t know what I did but suddenly the machine popped and unlocked!!!

So I went next door and asked them for a sticky note to put on the machine to warn others…

Suffice to say I will NEVER go back to that place and I’m putting 1 star reviews for it everywhere I can.

    What a nightmare!

Does anyone know who owns the Olympic Heights Laundry place up on 35th? Or how to contact them? Yesterday I went to do laundry and their machine threw an error and it won’t open the door! Two thirds of my clothes are in it!

The only number I found online is disconnected. I went back at closing time thinking someone must come close the place for the night but it’s all automated, no one came!

I opened a support ticket through the app used for payment but they only do the money movement so they replied “we’ve let management at Olympic heights laundry know” but I’m at the mercy of them ever seeing that message!

Does anyone have any leads? I feel like I’d want to take a toolbox and try to take down the machine’s door somehow!!!

If you drove by the front of the residence on 36th Ave SW you probably weren’t able to see the downhill carnage. Drive uphill on Admiral and just before the flashing “this is your speed” sign look up that slope or better yet just pull over for a safer look.

Followed city codes and rules for 4 decades as a landscape designer/contractor and that work on the ECA slope is absolutely illegal. Also there is no approved “topping for view” rule, period.

Further up the hill at the actual pull out for the city view, the decisions ahead and likely heavy pruning to open that sacred view again will really open the door for more of the view pruning. They’ve let all the downslope native growth just do it’s thing for many years and the view is pretty much nonexistent in the growing seasons. Will be interesting for sure…
