Another vote for O’Neill!! Mom had to make an emergency call for a backed up sewer. They were busy, but able to send one man. He came, saw what was needed, and since there was no help available called his 16 year old son and had him come over to help dig!! No extra charge!. They’re also a home grown WS business.

Ok, sorry, one more. I know West Seattle is full of folks that made a downstairs basement legal by making the window into an egress window. Seems like there are a lot of shady companies out there that claim they do this. Anyone have a good experience with one that they would recommend? Thanks!!!

You absolutely can say something. To rude adults too! We’re better off when we call each other on our bad behavior. I hope you will reconsider next time, as I don’t think the parents of these children will ever see this post. I remember being chastised by adults when I was being a jerk, sure meant a lot more than my mom nagging me again.

I absolutely understand kids will be kids. Especially when they are with their friends. But, the absolute rudeness and disrespectfulness, made me cringe. Tossing produce in the air. Now a days an adult can’t say a word to anothers child. Smh. They were behind me at the ATM. I am just hoping you know how they act when they are in public without you. If that parent is reading this. Around 4:30 on 2/10 is probably when they used their ATM card. Where did the times go when a community raises a child. Now, we can’t say a word.

Another vote for Barbara. I have two siblings with special needs and she helped us organize our wills and estate in a way that was much more effective and cheaper then I thought I needed to do. Her office is downtown.

Looking for a West Seattle family to share our wonderful nanny (we are near Madison Middle School). The family we are sharing with now has decided to stay-at-home and will be quitting soon.
    – Our kiddo is a 10-month old girl but we’re flexible on age for the other kiddo
    – Schedule M-F 7:30 am – 4:30 PM for 45 hours a week (exact times could be negotiated)
    – Commitment would ideally be through September 2020 but could be extended and we would consider a shorter period of time
    – Monthly cost is very comparable to infant daycare costs in West Seattle. We’ll share details when you email. There is also a small cost for an accountant that does payroll and calculates taxes for us.
    – Start date is flexible. We could start as soon as 2 weeks or as late as 3 months.
    – Hosting is flexible. Now we primarily keep things at the other family’s home to avoid transferring supplies back-and-forth but this can be negotiated.
    – Vaccinations required
    – Our nanny lives in West Seattle and is very reliable, CPR trained, bilingual and a non-smoker.
If interested, please comment. We can then email or text to share details and questions like current contract.

    Hello,
I am looking to get in contact with different neighborhood committees within West Seattle to share a project design proposal for activating the Seola Greenbelt in the South end of West Seattle.

What neighborhood groups are already established in West Seattle and what is the best way to contact them?

    Project Details Below:
My name is Morgan Matthews, and I am a Senior at the University of Washington, majoring in Community, Environment, and Planning. I am reaching out to you in hopes of gaining interest in my senior project and to get some feedback and opinions on my proposed idea.

***It is important to begin with the fact that my senior project is a proposal for a park design, and it is not my intent to have the plan come into fruition. It is simply a concept or idea. Therefore this is not a request for funding, but for the ability to come to a community meeting to get feedback and opinions on my project proposal as community members.

    Project Idea:
As a West Seattle resident (Arroyo Heights), I have an interest in promoting the assets within the nearby communities. To give back to the interacting communities, I wanted to take into consideration how I could activate an underutilized park in the Arbor Heights neighborhood. The Seola Greenbelt Park is partially in West Seattle and Partially in Burien and holds a lot of rich history that connects the areas. To bring activation to the site, I am proposing an all-natural wood and steel park design for my senior project, so that I may implement the logging culture that used to take place in the area. Through this project, I am working to improve my design and community engagement skills.

If this sounds of interest to you, here is some insight into what I would be looking to do:

    1) meet with West Seattle community groups to share a PowerPoint presentation on the proposed project design for Seola Greenbelt.

    2) I would have a survey to fill out for each community member in attendance, which would also serve as a contact sheet so that I may send updates to members once I have revised my initial plan.

    3) I will be implementing feedback into the revised design and sending it out.

    4) My project will then be presented in June, to judges, stakeholders, and community members in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington.
