My son’s Pixel 4a in a black case was dropped around 2pm today (Sunday). South side of Edmunds across from True Value. It could have fallen at around 45th, again on the south side of Edmunds. It’s powered off (perhaps from impact on ground?) so we can’t track it.

Please email me at merudevi (at) gmail if you find it. Thanks!!

The Iconic Planters “Nutmobile” Stops by Sound Generations in Appreciation for Meals on Wheels Volunteers

The Planters “Nutmobile” has been travelling across the country since the Great Depression to lift spirits, bring smiles, and provide a bit of joy and appreciation for all the great contributions people share with their communities from small towns and large cities alike.

SEATTLE, Wash.- Sound Generations constantly strives to expand services to underserved and marginalized communities. Believing that everyone deserves access, affirms their deep commitment to helping all people, especially low-income and people of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.

The pandemic has presented disruption to some of its programs and services, but with volunteer support, Sound Generations not only continues, but expands its reach to bring vital services to adults on the aging spectrum through food security, transportation, health and wellness, and assistance services programs.

Sound Generations’ Meals on Wheels (MOW) Program has felt an uptick in meal delivery. Specifically, the West Seattle MOW site currently has 76 active clients and 21 volunteers. They have been averaging around 2307 meals being delivered by volunteers per month (March – Sept.). This represents a 17% increase month over month as compared to 2019. Additionally, this site has taken on 26 new participants since the onset of the pandemic in March. The volunteers have taken on the increased demand for service in stride.

While volunteer support overall is down across the organization, Sound Generations’ MOW program volunteers old and new have been stepping up and showing up to meet the increase demand. Their volunteer’s commitment has never been stronger in meeting the clients’ needs in the face of the ever-evolving coronavirus findings. Simultaneously, they have taken proactive measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus amongst themselves and the high-risk population Sound Generations serves. These efforts are to be commended and Planters agrees.

The Planters “Nutmobile” has led them to celebrate this MOW site’s volunteer accomplishments in the face of challenging circumstances. The “Nutmobile has been featured in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and lent its brand to numerous celebrated events from New York’s Time Square to Great Britain. They will be on site at the West Seattle Senior Center located at 4217 SW Oregon St., Seattle, WA 98116 on Wednesday, October 28 from 8:30 AM to11:00 AM. Join Sound Generations as they celebrate the service of volunteers and their commitment to ensure Sound Generations’ programs can continue bringing vital services to older adults at various stages on the aging spectrum.

If you would like more information about this event, please call MOW at 206.448.5767, or email mealsonwheels@soundgenerations.org

Rainy Pass Repair at 4415 Stone Way repairs tents and sleeping bags and such. They do a great job and their prices are reasonable. They are passionate about bringing damaged adventure equipment back to life. You could explain what you’re planning to do with your bags and they might (just a guess) help keep costs to a minimum. Pre-COVID-19 you could drop off and pick up at their facility. Not sure if they do that now. They are not exactly local (not West Seattle based)but they repair sleeping bag zippers on a daily basis and they have been in business for over 30 years.

It’s been over a couple decades since I’ve had/used a mower, and I never tinkered around with the engine a *lot*, but going by vague memory, I seem to recall at least one small spring to the carb/throttle connecting to a hole on one end, and onto what is essentially a hook on the other end.

I’m going to include a link to a Google results page, in where I searched copying from “Briggs”, through the end of the model number, in your post, then adding “schematics”.

Also, have you searched online for tutorials/vids?

I hope this can help at least until a more knowledgable reply comes in.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Hospitalization for coronavirus illnesses in North Carolina rose to record heights for at least the third day in a row Wednesday as the state reported an increase of 1,435 confirmed cases of the virus in a day.

The new batch of cases of novel coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, increased the state’s total to more than 77,000 lab-confirmed cases, according to North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services data.

The state’s virus-related death tally rose to 1,441 Wednesday, 21 deaths higher than reported Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, 10 percent of COVID-19 tests conducted in the state were positive.

Hospitalizations rose by five patients to 994 patients reported Wednesday, marking the fourth day of increases and the highest number of patients treated for COVID-19 reported in the state yet, according to data.

Pidgeon Point Residents! Your sign says “Home of the T-137 Mystery Bunker”. What is it? Where exactly is it? How do I get to it? What is it now? Will I be shot if I find out or go there? BTW, that radio tower on 4441 21ST AVE SW 98106 is described as a “Radio Training Tower”. (?!)

In my HS years, I used to go to an abandoned Nike Missile complex for “extracurricular” activities. In my youth, I used to sneak into an abandoned grandstand at a defunct horse racing track. I also like to track down where all the trolleys ran in WS. I love urban exploring so if anyone knows of any other crazy places in West Seattle, chime up!

OK, get your tin hats on…
