We are very excited to be hosting a transportation-oriented debate with King County Executive candidates Dow Constantine and Joe Nguyen. This job has a tremendous influence on local transportation, since King County runs Metro transit and the water taxi, and the Executive serves on the Sound Transit Board.

We will also be joined by representatives from Seattle Department Of Transportation to discuss the Alki Point Keep Moving Street project. Be sure to complete their survey (available in multiple languages) to share your opinion about this project.

Please join us for a very important and informative meeting!

Time for the Keep Moving Streets to be returned to full use for all modes of transportation, especially the Alki Point one.  There is no solid reason to remove cars from this part of the beach access and spend these dollars.  The proposed plans—none of which include returning it to its prior use—do not improve access for all.  If our goals are truly about equity, then let’s make Alki Point and the other streets accessible to ALL the forms of access, including cars for those who require them.
