West Seattle Community Orchestras (WSCO) FREE Student Strings and Debut Orchestra Concert
Tuesday, May 2, 6:00 p.m.
Chief Sealth International High School Auditorium
2600 SW Thistle St.

Don’t miss the downbeat! West Seattle Community Orchestras’ first concert of the spring season will open promptly at 6:00 with a few very short pieces by our newest musicians—school-age students who are learning to play an instrument. Some will be performing in their first-ever concert!

The Student Strings performance will be followed by our Debut Orchestra, which includes strings, of course, but also adds winds and percussion to form a full symphony orchestra. You’ll see adults performing right alongside young people—as far as we know, the only such ensemble in the state! This is the group’s fifth year under the baton of the phenomenal Rachel Nesvig, who pulls an amazing level of accomplishment from these fledgling musicians.

Along with several orchestral classics, a feature of their program will be “Highlights from Harry Potter.”

Best of all, it’s free! (Though donations are very much appreciated.)
