Viaduct Closure Transportation Forum

Date: Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018

Time: 1-2:30 p.m.

Location: South Seattle College, OLY 120 (Olympic Hall Theater) (campus map)

Beginning January 11, 2019, the Alaskan Way Viaduct (elevated highway running adjacent to downtown) will close for approximately three weeks. All transportation to and from West Seattle and the South Seattle College campus will be impacted, including public transit routes. Join us for a Transportation Forum on Nov. 15 to learn how you can adjust your commute and find alternative routes to West Seattle and campus. Speakers at the forum will include the Washington State Department of Transportation, King County Metro Transit and the City of Seattle. Open to all students, staff, faculty and community members.

They should have scheduled the meeting after hours or on the weekend to allow communters (e.g., people working in downtown who will be adversely affected) to attend.

Hi. This is a college event – they’re opening it to the public too as a courtesy. It’s one of many events at which the transportation/transit agencies have made local appearances. Also recently mentioned and coming up next week if it works better for you, Junction Neighborhood Organization, Monday (November 19) at 6:30 at the Senior Center (4217 SW Oregon).

They should’ve scheduled this meeting on the weekend or evening to allow those most imacted (e.g. downtown workerforce) to attend.  I hope that is being planned.
