Admiral Church and Pastor Andrew Conley-Holcom are offering two tracks to a year-long group study of Uprooting Racism by Paul Kivel. Why Uprooting Racism? “This book provides the best concrete guidance for the new or perplexed would-be white ally that I have ever seen in print,” writes Victor Lee Lewis, founder/director of the Radical Resilience Institute.
The first of the two tracks, Track A, is for individual introspection, focusing on personal experience of white identity and developing responses to privilege and white supremacy. These meetings will take place once per month, starting January 18th. Track B, which will meet every three months starting in March, is for members of organizations interested in analyzing the systemic influence of white supremacy and how to respond to it.
Both tracks carry a registration fee, which will be donated in full to the Poor People’s Campaign for Moral Revival, and participants are required to have a copy of Uprooting Racism.
