Sustainable West Seattle’s first Volunteer Orientation and Appreciation Party features an overview of SWS’s projects and volunteer opportunities. If you live in West Seattle and are interested in making West Seattle a more sustainable community, join SWS at the Admiral Cross Fit Gym on Saturday, May 3 from 4:00 pm–7:00 pm.
The orientation for prospective volunteers includes descriptions of what SWS volunteers do and the many opportunities offered. Volunteers work at the Tool Library, Community Orchard, Tox-Ick wastewater awareness program, multiple bicycle activities including Spokespeople, West Seattle Bike Connections and our newest project DIY Bikes. Volunteers are the essential
ingredient to make West Seattle more sustainable and you’re invited to find out more. The celebration includes a Volunteer Appreciation Party, with a potluck, music and green prizes. SWS will provide food and beverages and you’re welcome to bring a dish to share.
Volunteers make everything happen at Sustainable West Seattle,” says Kimberly Leeper, Volunteer Coordinator for SWS. “One of the things I love most about giving my time and energy to SWS is all of the volunteers I work with on projects and advocacy. It’s an amazing community of people and with more volunteers we can work together to make West Seattle more sustainable.”
