Southwest Stories: Fire Stations On The Duwamish Peninsula
Southwest Seattle Historical Society — in partnership with Seattle Public Library — presents our 2018 season of “Southwest Stories,” a speakers series featuring historical stories from the Duwamish Peninsula.
Join us for Southwest Stories and a talk by curator Bob Carney on the history of neighborhood fire stations on the Duwamish Peninsula.
Guest curator Bob Carney discusses his research process and the creation of the current exhibit at the Southwest Seattle Historical Society’s Log House Museum. Hear how neighborhoods and fire stations grow up together and about the community’s appreciation for its firefighters.
Southwest Stories offers monthly presentations on the history of West Seattle and the Duwamish Peninsula on the third Sundays at the five branches in West Seattle. Presented in partnership with the Southwest Seattle Historical Society.
Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.
