On Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Little Shop of Hairdos will host a special Pay What You Can Haircutting Event at Hatten Hall inside The Center for Active Living.
Created with dignity and community care at its heart, the event offers professional haircuts to adults ages 50+ who may be living on a fixed income, navigating a tight financial season, or simply in need of a little extra kindness.
There is no set price. No pressure. A haircut is more than maintenance — it’s confidence, dignity, and feeling like yourself. We want our community to know they’re seen, valued, and supported.
Guests can stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. — no appointment necessary. All haircuts will be provided by volunteer stylists from Little Shop of Hairdos, along with additional stylists from the broader beauty community. Every service will be offered with professionalism, respect, and an open heart.
All proceeds from the event will be donated directly back to The Center for Active Living, further supporting programs that enrich the lives of older adults in the Seattle area. Little Shop of Hairdos has long been committed to giving back to the communities it serves.
Through this event and others like it, the salon hopes to use its craft not just to style hair — but to strengthen connection, restore confidence, and show up meaningfully for its neighbors.
Because community is about showing up for one another.
