SafeFutures is a 20 year-old nonprofit in West Seattle that supports Highpoint and South King County youth who don’t have much support from anywhere else. SafeFutures operates a youth center and provides services and programs designed to support young people succeed in academics and life. Initially started to give young people an alternative to gangs in West Seattle and South King County, SafeFutures has done some incredible work with communities, youth and families. The majority of SafeFutures’ youth are immigrants, refugees, and minorities. On October 21st the organization is hosting its first social justice event and fundraiser — a community pancake breakfast at Kenyon Hall:
