So excited to see everyone come out for this important cause! This is the first event to be held by a grassroots West Seattle group called West Seattle Mamas Mobilize! We are excited to build a strong network in our community to effectively respond to further threats to our neighbors We have partnered with the Lawyer Moms of America to hold a lemonade stand to raise awareness and funds to both support the children currently being held in detention and to end child detention altogether. This is a link to our event page that goes into detail about the 2 organizations we are raising money for, which are KIND (Kids In Need of Defense) and Rio Grande Valley Rapid Response. https://www.facebook.com/events/723511274748364/?ti=clWe will be situated across the street from Lincoln Park to outreach the thousands of families attending a Sesame Street event at the northend ball field, so we are enthusiastic about a great turnout to our lemonade stand. We will be easy to find! Look for our big, colorful signs. The lemonade stand will be stationed at 46th & Rose, but we have wagons and hope to be a little mobile to outreach as many people as possible – especially the thirsty ferry line! This is a family friendly fundraiser and we hope to reach several hundred families on Saturday!
