Topic:
Fruit Tree Pruning Basics

Dear Friends of The Orchard,

This talk and mini-demo is geared for those who want to learn more about fruit tree pruning and its benefits. Rita’s experience growing up on a fruit orchard and serving as Project Manager and Pruning Enthusiast for City Fruit has contributed to improving the health and productivity of Seattle’s urban orchard. She trains and assists residents with pruning fruit trees in private yards, arbors and community spaces to maximize tree health and hearty fruit production.

If you have your own hand pruners please bring them. If not, we will have some to lend out. We suggest you bring water, gloves and dress for weather. Hot beverages and light snacks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you then!

The orchard is at the northeast end of the South Seattle College campus.
