Beach Grief Walk with Listening to Grief at Constellation Park
Sunday, May 19, at 10:00 AM
Free; registration appreciated but not required.

Join Listening to Grief for a Grief Walk at Constellation Park (meet at the southernmost entrance). Walk along the beach with others who are also grieving. During the walk we will stop a few times for poetry, observation, movement, story sharing, and quiet contemplation.

All are welcome. Keep in mind we will be talking about grief and death. The beach is uneven and rocky, and there may be logs to step over to reach the beach. The ground may be wet. I trust you to know what your body can manage and to take care of yourself accordingly. Bring water and wear appropriate shoes.

SDOT is removing parking on the west side of Beach Drive SW against the wishes of major users of Constellation Marine Reserve.  SDOT has failed to do adequate surveys.  Alki For All organization has collected 1300 petition signers who oppose the removal of parking spaces.  If you want to reverse this action by SDOT please contact the mayor and express your opinion concerning the removal of parking.  SDOT stated when Healthy Streets program was initiated that no parking spaces would be removed.  That was a false statement.  School buses will no longer to park in those spaces making access to educational marine biology classes much more difficult or impossible.  This is the worst kind of municipal power play I have ever seen in my 55 years as a citizen of Seattle.
