Blues and Boogie Woogie icon Arthur Migliazza returns to tear apart our Steinway, this time with guest artist Bob Malone. As a traveler in the world of first-rate pianists, Arthur encounters some outstanding fellow performers, and when possible he invites them to Kenyon Hall. As usual, he’s secured the services of another gem.
Bob Malone has toured the world as a solo artist for two decades and has played keyboards with rock legend John Fogerty since 2011. Classically trained, with a degree in jazz and a lifetime playing rock & roll clubs, theaters, and arenas, Bob’s sound is a one-of-a-kind hybrid of rock, blues, and New Orleans R & B, delivered with high-energy piano virtuosity and a voice all his own.
In my correspondence with Bob, I learned that his original training was classical organ and piano, and his teacher was the great theatre organist Ashley Miller, who played the Mighty Wurlitzer at Radio City Music Hall for years. Guess what that means.
