If you can donate blood, here’s a West Seattle drive to consider – Alki Beach, next Sunday (October 26), lots of perks from beach businesses! The Alki Community Council jumped in to help Bloodworks Northwest line up donors – you can register here before the slots are all filled (those remaining are between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm). I tried to register but appointments appear to be all booked up. What an incredible feat and kudos to the vendors and donors as blood is the most abundant resource that is in chronic shortage!
Crazy to me that Bloodworks has to offer incentives to get people to donate. It literally takes just 30 minutes of your day and they are always on the brink of having low inventory.
Who says they HAVE TO offer the incentives? Just because people are signing up to donate when there ARE incentives doesn’t mean those same people wouldn’t sign up without those incentives. What is probably more attractive to donors is being on a weekend and in an easy-to-get-to location.
