HALLOWEEN 2025: White Center trick-or-treat block party defies the rain

South of SW Roxbury, 16th SW is closed in the heart of White Center for the season’s last round of business-district trick-or-treating.

Canopies prevail; treats will be available until about 7 pm, and local bars and restaurants have indoor activities planned too. The White Center Business Alliance organized this and is behind other memorable events too, like the third-Thursday Rat City Art and Food Walk. One lead WC instigator is Puffy Pandy proprietor Donna, who we photographed with son Ivan:

This was really fun, and well organized even in the rain! I hope the organizers do this again next year, and continue to build this event into something amazing the way they’ve done with Pride. It’s great to get out and see neighbors with their kids, and learn about new businesses in the neighborhood!

This was awesome! Can we bring back jubilee days in the summer? That was always the best as a kid.

  We’ve hit three times that in our best year so I always buy enough candy for 100+ kids … so much leftover this year!

White Center Pride is a non-profit organization led by volunteers to put the pride festival on each year, different than White Center Business Alliance but partnered together to build up the community
