WEEKEND PREVIEW: Dick’s Drive-In truck returning to Highland Park Corner Store

The photo is from the Dick’s Drive-In truck visiting the Highland Park Corner Store in 2023. It’s returning this weekend, 11 am-2 pm Saturday (August 9), and it’s open to everyone, so if you’re a fan of Dick’s burgers/shakes (still no fries), you can stop by 7789 Highland Park Way SW in that window!

Per their website the truck has the same prices as the brick and mortar stores.

The old Midas lot on Fauntleroy would be the perfect spot for a permanent Dick’s

Maybe Morgan junction might have space for them. Just saying, trying to stay out of the way of sound transit take over. Lol

Agree, but it’s tunneled right there. I don’t think there’s any non-tunnel option picked from Avalon to Alaska Junction.

West Seattle, White Center, or Beacon Hill seem like the next logical expansion areas. Right now Dicks is heavily concentrated to the north. Would love to see one along Alki or at The Junction.

Dicks Drive In is my absolute number one favorite burger, fries and milkshake!  For West Seattle it’s a long drive to try to get to one of their locations. I agree that it would be fabulous if we could get one over here because I love the fries and the mobile unit does not have them.. either way I intend to stop by and get a Dick’s deluxe while the Mobile unit is here. Would love to get a West Seattle location for Dick’s drive-in.❤️

Obviously no sense going if they don’t have French fries 🍟 in my opinion

The most anemic, pitiful plain hamburger I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating.  I have to return to California to get a decent hamburger or sushi – or a riceball for that matter.  There are some real deficits in the food scene here.

Dicks is bad but if you can’t find a good burger here that’s a “you” problem.

Maybe, but I’ll stick with what I know.  I don’t have the budget or desire to try them all, as I don’t eat out that often.

We’re losing too many of our good everyday or casual dining options! Like this example- there’s still some good options for teriyaki in West Seattle. But I was visiting family that’s migrated to a southern state- they had more options for Seattle style teriyaki than we do. It made me want to cry! And it also made me want to support all the nice food places we have while they’re still here, from Toshi’s to Dick’s, from Mashiko’s to Marination!

I know Dick’s is a Seattle institution but you just can’t have a burger without fries!! I’m actually a convert – Lil Woody’s is our favorite now.

Lil Woody’s is SO GOOD. Best lettuce wrap of any burger I’ve had, and their fries are amazing.

Yes, Dick’s is a Seattle institution same as Dag’s once was and only because it is a quick cheap (???) meal. Now as for bringing themselves here in WS, I don’t think it’ll ever happen only because they wouldn’t get as much action as their other locations do. Think about it, how many times would you go and get a meal there if there was one.

Sorry, comment time is over.
