BIZNOTE: As Westwood Village’s J. Crew Factory moves ahead, Bronz’d closes

Four months have passed since we told you a J. Crew Factory store was penciled in for the former GameStop and Desert Sun spaces in Westwood Village. The company has yet to make a formal announcement, but that’s not unusual (for example, Total Wine & More has yet to “announce” its Westwood store, but it’s posted May 30 as the opening date). We have word of two developments with the space – the tanningsalon that followed Desert Sun, Bronz’d, now has a note on the door saying it had closed immediately and permanently. We went by to check (top photo) after Wyatt sent the photo below of the note:

Meantime, Huy found a link providing new confirmation of the future J. Crew Factory store – this job listing for the store director.

    Re: Bronz’d – what happens to their customers who may had purchased a “package” for 3 months and still has 2 months left of it, like myself are they just SOL?

      I contacted my credit card company and challenged the transaction. I had literally purchased six months of tanning a week before they closed. According to my credit card company, they will contact whoever did the charge and if they don’t respond, then it’s credited back.

    This company is a scam my daughter just purchased a month of tanning for more than $127 the very next day they close we are trying to get hold of the company but we’re getting no answer

      If your daughter paid with a card I would call your bank/credit union immediately. I’m going to call ours right now and see what they say. Please let us all keep each other informed on our outcome with this.

      I called our CU and we now have a dispute on charges going so pretty much the same as Louis’ comment above. Such a shame all around.We also drove by while in the area to take a peek and there was this notice on the doors, note there is no mention of giving money back to anyone.

      @walkerws, Some may had purchased the Red light Therapy and or the Wellness Pod services they had there and not the fake n bake.

    Bronz’d had quite the money grab at the ast week plus with their BOGO.  Seemed desperate.  I would guess they ran out of money and it was not a lease issue since they just opened a few months back.

    I’m confused – so if jCrew was planning to move in how did Bronzd expect to stay in that space? I too bought a package I can no longer use and was surprised to see the notice with no contact info. Very disappointing, especially with the promo email they sent recently.

      @KW Yes this whole thing is confusing isn’t it. I wonder how much money they have taken from customers in just the last few weeks. As I have done and others who have commented, contact your bank/CU and dispute the charge. I purchased my package on May 1st and our CU has got a hold on the money and we’ll see if we get it back can’t hurt for you to try too.As for getting emails from Bronz’d I got texted and here is the number it originated from: 425-648-7087

    Shame on all of you. If you actually took the time to stop by, like I did, and actually got the facts vs making assumptions and making false statements against these two young men. I was there to help them move out in a short amount of time and can’t describe the pain the owners are going through but can’t legally disclose all the facts based off what the property management is enforcing. You should be directing your anger towards the right individuals vs these two victims

      @Jenifer, Don’t shame us I have tried verbally via phone call and text with no reply and another commenter above says they have too. It is not like we have the time to swing by numerous times of the day in hoping by chance someone, anyone would be there to talk to. So tell us who is the right person to aim our anger at?

    Jenifer, not to shame on anyone.
    But what happened to all the money paid to the salon?
    My wife bought a 3 month membership less than a month ago and one commenter bought a single month the night before..  are they going to get a refund? or is Brandon & Rob going to make off with the money.
    They haven’t responded to anyone. (crickets) hopefully they speak up soon, before legal action is taken.
    So the customers are now the victims of theft!

    Tell me again, who are we shaming?
