The purpose of this gathering is to provide encouragement and community. Creative people at all stages of development, both casual and professional, are welcome but this gathering is especially for beginners, people who are self-taught, and/or those who simply enjoy making art and think a monthly social gathering will help them make time each month for art!

Incredible pic! I’ve heard of them but had never seen one.

Hey Rick, I hope you’re able to see one of these lil fellas soon! They’re an absolute blast. You may not have seen one, but I bet you’ve probably heard them squawkin’ before; check out some of their calls and songs here: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/California_Scrub-Jay/sounds. Whenever I’ve been able to catch sight of one, it’s because I heard them first. I tend to find them moving between tree tops or hanging out on wires. Best of luck!

Seattle parks – could city parks please put Coleman Pool back to the way it used to be? Free swim used to be the entire pool. Lap swimming was in the morning. Now it’s divided long ways down the middle and the slide is closed. Not nearly as much fun. Is this because of pandemic/staffing issues?

As a lap swimmer, I truly appreciate being able to use the pool at various parts of the day, not just the mornings. Having said that, I’m glad all swim is available for half the pool as well, for families. This could be viewed as a win-win for all this way.
