4:40 PM: SPD and SFD are on the scene of a crash at Harbor Avenue SW and Fairmount Avenue, and police are asking for traffic-control help. Officers have described it to dispatch as three cars, two of them parked, and a driver under investigation for possible DUI. No serious injuries reported.
5:05 PM: That driver has been taken into custody. Meantime, at least two cars are being towed, so the scene might clear before too much longer.
Just passed scene at 5:25. Police and all cars still on scene. Slow traffic.

I hope the driver had insurance and is made fully accountable for all the damage they caused. Penalties for driving under the influence need to be harsh, and guilty drivers need to be required to purchase liability coverage of at least $1,000,000 for a minimum of three years after the first offence. If they do not learn even longer.
I agree. I’d also like to see a ban on all alcohol and marijuana purchases for anyone with 2 or more DUIs.
