READER REPORT: Another new all-way stop

Thanks to the texter who sent the photo and report of the recently installed all-way stop, and painted crosswalks, at 44th/Lander, on the south side of Lafayette Elementary. This plan was mentioned by commenter Tony following our report last month about other school zones getting new all-way stops.

The new stop signs at Genessee and 21st as well as at 19th and Genessee by Pathfinder school are also in place as of late last week.

Appreciative to see the work completed to help drivers slow down and be cautious.  I live on 45th behind the school, and the volume and speed drivers take down this street (and surrounding streets) is concerning. Especially using it as a cut through during congested hours on admiral way (when kids may also be leaving school grounds).  Hope everyone keeps speed and safety in mind on these neighborhood streets!

There is a new 4 way stop at 45th and Lander too.

Thanks! The commenter to whom I linked mentioned that as well as 44th/Lander but the texter sent only 44th/Lander and we haven’t gone out on rounds to check yet today.

Now if only they would put a 4 way stop at the intersection of 26th and Genessee. Cars fly up that hill and pass pedestrians waiting at the crosswalk every day. There isn’t a school here but the community center and green belt bring children, dogs and walkers all year long to that intersection.

Sorry, comment time is over.
