We’ve had multiple reports of brown water on Genesee Hill since late last night. Here’s a photo sent by Molly:
No outages/repairs mapped in the area so far. If it’s happening at your residence, call Seattle Public Utilities to report it at 206-386-1800.
Not sure if it’s related, but we saw a fire truck yesterday afternoon in Seaview (on 49th around SW Findlay St) that appeared to be stopping and testing fire hydrants.
SPU said fire dept was testing hydrants in our area today, and that’s why. Thank you WS Blog!
We experienced the same thing on Alki Point by Bar-S. Lasted a few hours, landlord told us to just run the water til it ran clear. Was also from fire department
My water has still been brown as hell for 24+ hours now, yet they claim it is “safe to drink” when I call them. Me thinks I will not be taking that Montezuma’s Revenge risk.
