FERRY ALERT: Triangle Route down to one boat

From Washington State Ferries:

Due to lack of Coast Guard documented crew, the #2 Sealth will be out of service after the 5:20 p.m. Southworth departure. The vessel will tie up at the Vashon terminal and the route will operate on the #1 vessel schedule for the remainder of the evening.

Texter reports a big backup already at Southworth.

WSF still needs to bring their hiring (and training) protocols into the 21st century. The pandemic should have lit a fire under their backsides to figure out how to train and employ those of us that wanted to work on the ferry system.

I ran into this situation last Monday (3/27)  and ended up having to drive from the Fauntleroy terminal through Tacoma and on to my destination, Southworth. The current state of the WSF system is that it cannot be relied upon.  The Kitsap Fast Ferrys provide some relief during particular times of the day but there are times when driving is required.I’d like to see a plan for mitigating this problem.

Sorry, comment time is over.
