4:51 PM: Thanks for the tip. Two lanes on the West Seattle Bridge are blocked by a crash in the same spot as this morning’s bus crash, westbound side by the onramp from SB 99.
5:15 PM: SDOT says this crash has cleared.

Makes you wonder if this has anything to do with bridge being closed and now the heavy rain that we have had last 48hrs adding to slicker roads. I definitely felt it this morning on my commute. Roads are way slicker today. Be safe
WSB. Will be interesting to hear SPD’s/Metro’s final report on the cause of the Metro bus crash and if this crash has the same circumstances.
That’s always been a bad spot even before the bridge was out. I know because I drive too fast. It’s a spot I’ve had to ease off a lil since moving to West years ago
Adam. Maybe instead of bragging about driving too fast you can just slow down & save some lives.
BZ, I didn’t take it that way. It sounds like Adam was giving a helpful warning based on experience.
I find it interest to place blame on something other than driving too fast We all have seen drivers aggressively weave in and out only to be one car ahead at the light. Come on people!! Slow down or leave earlier
Pretty sure a pickup truck also hit that spot on Friday around 11am and damage the front of their vehicle with the guardrail.
Yesterday there was a 3 car accident blocking 2 lanes on the eastbound side, almost parallel. Something on the road surface on both sides?
The people who are speeding are probably frustrated that some drivers go 40 mph in a 45 mph zone on the bridge, but the same slow drivers then zoom through north admiral (on admiral way) at 45-50 mph in a 25 mph residential zone.My point is that speeding by itself isn’t always bad, but context, location, and safety are important (read – don’t drive 45 mph on a Seattle residential street).
UH – excuse me, but is this not the westbound side by the OFF ramp from SB 99? I’m confused .
My car did a BIG wiggle when I was changing lanes in that very spot. Drive friendly!
Impulse control…it’s getting worse by the day, with no end in sight…
My brother and I hit that same spot on Friday evening. We were not speeding and there wasn’t a car around, thankfully, we did a little drift but my brother was able to correct in time. Very sketchy! Can’t help but think all the rain acintributed to that.
I saw a minivan run into the jersey barrier on Sunday morning (10am-ish) at about the same spot. It seemed to be the only car…and I couldn’t tell whether or not it was speeding. I assumed it was the slickness of the road!?
Sorry, comment time is over.
