PANDEMIC UPDATES: Weekly check-in, 7/11/2021

When we ended our nightly pandemic roundups after 16 months, we promised weekly updates. Here’s the first one. These are baselines – so next week we’ll be able to start adding the week-to-week comparisons. The state and county are only updating stats on weekdays now, so these are the newest numbers.

KING COUNTY CUMULATIVE NUMBERS AS OF FRIDAY:

113,294 people have tested positive (3,936 in West Seattle)
6,550 people have been hospitalized (198 in West Seattle)
1,672 people have died (68 in West Seattle)

VACCINATION RATE:

73.2% of King County residents 12+ have completed their vaccine series

    So 25 folks in King County died of Covid since the last update. Seems bad.

      Curious to know if those that died had been vaccinated?

    Can we get a break down of the amount of those infected and deceased that came from nursing homes or high risk situations? I think it’s worth asking.

    According to the King County dashboard, 364 positive tests over the weekend. Troubling number.

    A friend of mine works at a local hospital and said 100% of their covid patients are unvaccinated.

      This is a very helpful unsourced and unverifiable piece of information for everyone to ingest.
