TRAFFIC ALERT: Seattle City Light work closes 2 streets

That Seattle City Light truck is the reason SW Charlestown is closed west of 46th SW – and a block away, SW Spokane is closed in the same spot. Planned work, according to the SCL map, which shows a 34-customer outage as a result of the work. No word how long it will last – the map shows the power in the area was expected to be restored four hours ago.

They are replacing the power poles on the side of the hill. Power is supposed to be out for 10 hours today (started at 8:00am) and another 5 hours tomorrow

Thanks. A neighbor sent a pic of a crane earlier so when I saw it was SCL, I suspected poles … but will have to grump at them again for not sending us a notice, as the road closures were clearly taking some by surprise. – TR

It took us by surprise too, our power was cut off and we received no notice. We talked to the crew this morning and there was no mention of an outage again tomorrow…sigh

      Thank you for the update!

All equipment, including the crane is gone, so maybe they are done?

Just saw that all the equipment is now on the north end of the block (Spokane St) and that is where they are working!

Sorry, comment time is over.
