Coming back from shakedown and sea trials. Will be heading back up to the Arctic this summer for her annual mission.
Very cool. Those things are beasts! A few months back my wife served as the medic for a few days on the Polar Star as it came up the coast from dry dock. Since the hull is so shallow, she said it constantly rocked side-to-side, so that when walking across it, it felt like walking in a funhouse – steep uphill, then downhill, then repeat. Not surprisingly, the most frequent medical complaint was seasickness :)
Sorry, comment time is over.
