It may have just been a light traffic morning (or too early), but I took the 6:21 a.m. 55 bus from Admiral and we arrived at the 3rd and Pike stop about 15 minutes earlier than what the timetable indicates.  The Alaskan Way-Columbia St part went pretty smoothly.

Took a bus about 45 minutes later, and had the same smooth ride.  I wonder if Monday was just a bit of a mess with everyone adjusting to a bunch of buses sharing the road.  Hopefully the commute home is a bit quicker too.  Getting from Columbia to Alaska, and then along the waterfront was a bit slow.  The signals could probably use a bit of adjusting.

Because of the new bus routing, I saved 20 minutes off my usual commute last night.  20!  Truly a gift.  The mornings have been mixed these two days, pretty much the same as the late bus I take seems to get backed up on Alaskan or even at before that at the exit.  I agree with previous poster that it all will take some adjustment and getting used to before we see its true colors (and hopefully true benefits)

There was a cyclist vs car accident on Alaskan way near Royal Brougham.   Curious on what happened and if the person is okay.

If that was the Alaskan/Atlantic dispatch, the log shows only a low-level medical response, so apparently no major injury.

Glad to hear. That particular spot is incredibly problematic because vehicles (cars and trucks) have to cross the bike lane to turn right, and often do it carelessly at a high rate of speed. I’m seeing more and more cyclists, myself included, who take the car lane well before the merge point to avoid being ran over by careless drivers.

Traffic was light this morning… wonder why. Took the C line from Morgan junction at 8:20. Was at 2nd and Seneca at 9. I guess that’s not bad but still not as efficient as the 116 Express. The bus driver didn’t know to keep going down Alaskan Way and we had to tell her. She looked very confused but thankfully did it anyway. Since there’s no transit lane on Alaskan Way, it causes quite a bit of a slowdown sitting behind cars.

    2 wrecks eastbound near 1st and 4th.

Sorry, comment time is over.
