BIZNOTE: West Seattle AAA store closing

Thanks to Cindi for the tip: The AAA West Seattle store in Jefferson Square has announced it’s closing after March 31st, consolidating operations into the company’s Magnolia location (1523 15th Ave. W.).

AAA moved to Jefferson Square in 2012, displaced from its previous location on the southwest corner of 42nd SW and SW Alaska because of the Junction 47 development. No word yet on what will follow; the vacancy is shown on this marketing flyer.

With so much more online ability to plan travel, etc, this move does not surprise me at all, unfortunately.

Wow.  I’ve lived in West Seattle for 25 years.  I’ve been a AAA member for nearly 40 years.  I never knew there was an AAA store in West Seattle.

I visited there last week, and visited them at the previous location a number of times before their move to Jefferson Square. Oddly they haven’t been open on Saturdays, when I think a lot of people would be likely to visit.

For in person services after March, we will have to go to their Interbay store, or the Overlake Bellevue store.

Double Dang! I LOVED shopping there, the best and strongest made bags and accoutrements.. and I don’t even travel! Side note; AAA for Roadside Assistance is THE best yearly investment anyone with a vehicle can have, cheap coverage compared to what a real tow would be, and always the most polite phone and tow folks ever. I hope the 15th. NW retail store is as well stock as WSea.

Seems about right.  West Seattleites aren’t supposed to have cars anyway…😒

This is very disappointing.  Access to the Magnolia store is dangerous.  I wish they could have moved the Magnolia store here, although their location is much larger.  Time to go there to shop for a new suitcase before they leave.  “Sad!”

The woman who handles the home and car insurance (Linda) is phenomenal. I have never worked with anyone who is so thorough. She even found a decent earthquake policy for me, which are hard to find now. The prices are far less than what I paid through other companies.

It’s really unfortunate that we’re losing this full service insurance and travel gem that’s always provided top tier service.

I’ll follow them wherever they go, but I sure wish they could stay here in WS.

Sorry, comment time is over.
