UPDATE: Police response at 14th/Roxbury

10:11 PM: Police and fire are responding to a house near 14th and Roxbury. It’s an “assault with weapons” call on the SFD log but we haven’t heard whether there’s a victim. We are hearing that police are blocking off traffic in the 14th/15th/Roxbury area, so please avoid that area TFN. More to come.

10:23 PM: Per scanner, police have gone in and determined there’s no victim. They’re now trying to sort out whether the call was a hoax.

Oy.  Lots of sirens – lots of response wasted if it was a hoax.i was about to text you earlier but you already had it posted. We love you!

Thank you. We always appreciate the texts. In this case, I was out of the room when the dispatch went out, heard a siren in the distance and went back to the desk to check – catching the response in progress; it was clear that whomever had called 911 had claimed there was a victim, and that alone is a 5-unit SFD dispatch, not to mention all the police. – TR

Thank you for the update.  I walked by 14th & Roxbury right at 10pm on my way home from work and I was wondering if I got lucky and just missed something bad or if I was there and just completely oblivious.  Glad to hear there was no victim after all.

This call was very close to the location of that multiple homicide/suicide back in September 2010 (https://westseattleblog.com/2010/09/assault-with-weapons-call-14th-and-roxbury/).  That was the first thing that came to mind when I noticed the location.

Sorry, comment time is over.
