Before West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day officially begins, a quick spin around our calendar highlights:
STAMP OUT HUNGER: Get your bag of nonperishable food out to your mailbox, set it next to your door, wherever your letter carrier picks up and delivers – today’s the one-day, door-to-door food drive held on the second Saturday every year by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
WEST SEATTLE COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE DAY: The second Saturday is also WSCGSD – 12th year! And WSB’s ninth year coordinating it. If you’ve missed our many previews, you can scroll through them here, and/or browse the official website, but all you really need to do is go browse the map and descriptions – in two formats you’ll find here. 9 am-3 pm is the official sale time, with 320+ participants this year, all over the peninsula!
TONY’S MARKET OPENS: The popular produce-and-more stand opens for 2016 at 9 am today, as reported here (with two other biznotes) on Friday. (35th SW/SW Barton)
MADISON PERFORMS ‘THE WIZARD OF OZ’: Madison Middle School Drama presents “The Wizard of Oz,” and the community is invited! 10 am at the West Seattle High School Theater. Tickets at the door, $10 students/$15 adults. (3000 California SW)
