TRAFFIC ALERTS: Crashes on Fauntleroy Way & Delridge

4:50 PM: Thanks to everybody who messaged us about a crash in the 7600 block of Fauntleroy Way SW. Traffic is alternating at the scene, near SW Austin, and that is causing big trouble with ferry-bound traffic, so if you’re trying to get to the Fauntleroy terminal, we’d advise approaching from the south instead of the north. According to Tim, a pickup truck hit parked cars and ended up on its side.

5:05 PM: SDOT says that’s cleared. But now there’s a crash at Delridge and Holden.

No one was hurt; don’t know if the driver was under the influence but my neighbor’s truck was struck and pushed into his daughter’s car parked in front of it. Truck is a total loss (3rd time this has happened) but the car might be drivable. Vehicle that caused the accident appears totally destroyed, too.

Thanks for the update, Janet. We couldn’t get somebody over there in time. Sorry to hear about the damage.

We drove by right when it looks like the tow truck got there and boy that white PU truck was demolished from the drivers door back, the vehicle on it’s side must had been going way too fast to cause that much damage to that PU!

    Glad no one was hurt.

Janet – do you know what color the truck was that caused the damage or if it was older or newer?

    Thanks.

I was driving coming from the street fair, heading towards the ferry dock when I saw him swerve and side swipe the 3 parked cars along the road, and then pulled the wheel hard to swerve away when the truck started rolling. The truck rolled and stopped in his lane (oncoming from me). When I saw all of this happening I immediately stopped and parked my car to run over and help the man escape his truck, and within seconds after the accident a cop was at the scene.

We passed the accident as well when the tow truck was there. The pickup was dark gray with what looked like a cover over the back and had Montana plates. All the contents were strewn on the street and from what we could see, there were several cars parked on the east side of the street hit/damaged.

Sorry, comment time is over.
