UPDATE: Amber Alert over, child found safe

UPDATE: The situation was resolved overnight, as explained by SPD here.

ORIGINAL 8:32 PM REPORT:

Your cell phone likely sounded the alert a little while ago, an Amber Alert out for Aaron Lopez, a toddler who is missing, likely with his (non-custodial) father, last seen just south of here:

Authorities say that the child may be in the company of Daniel Lopez-Andino. He is the non-custodial parent. He abducted the child after a strong-armed robbery of the child’s mother.

They were last seen the area of East Marginal Way and Boeing Access [map]. Daniel is diagnosed as bipolar and is off medication. They may be traveling in a 2003 Silver/Aluminum BMW 325I vehicle, with license plate: WA #701ZNB. If you have any information on the whereabouts of this child, please contact 206-583-2111 immediately.

911 would work too. Full description information is on this page.

but, Comcast TV breaks into programming, for a long time; BUT with zero information; what is the point of taking away all broadcasts on TV to just flash a black screen for 10 mins, with no information; at least if the TV was still available, perhaps I could get info on one of the news channels

thankfully it’s posted here; yay westseattleblog; another boo for Comcast

I know they might be a hassle to get hold of but if you can find an e-mail address or something for feedback, let them know about that malfunction. It might be part of their government franchise that they have to deliver this kind of information in a timely and clear manner …

The Comcast alert came through with complete information during regular TV broadcast at our house. There may be a setting you can check to see if you have blocked these alerts. If so, that may be why you got the interruption in service, but no details.

KOMO reported he has an “undiagnosed mental illness for which he has not been taking his medication”. Huh. How are there meds, and how is it news, if it’s undiagnosed?

Yes, emergency Amber alert came through during NCIS last night. I have Comcast in the Admiral area, I would say it was less than a three minute interruption with some important information.

Comcast alert came through just fine for us as well. Someone can be on meds for something like depression or anxiety while trying for completely diagnose.

All the phones in the house sounded like a fire alarm going off but black screen with Infinity.

Glad this cute little guy is back with his mother
