West Seattle traffic alert: Low bridge back to normal operation, post-dredging

Just confirmed by SDOT: The Spokane Street Swing Bridge (aka the West Seattle “low bridge”) is back to normal operations after dredging put it out of vehicle/bike/pedestrian service for about four hours.

Jeez, that was quick. I was expecting Bike-ageddon.

    Or Dredge-gate?

    thanks for the update.

I really should thank Lucy in the SDOT division that deals with bridges for proactively following up on the question about bikes/pedestrians (which later led to an official update from the communications department) and also making sure we would get an update on the bridge status once the dredging was done, so we could share an update without driving up there every half-hour to check (saves gas and time and last night at midnight we were just wrapping up coverage on the stolen car/burglary story anyway). – TR
