As school open-house season continues, Harbor School on Vashon Island, which serves grades 4-8, is sponsoring WSB to reach out to West Seattle families, and is offering special transportation assistance to get interested families to its open house next Wednesday – including a ferry ticket if you RSVP today, and shuttle service from the dock if you RSVP by Tuesday:

On Wednesday, November 13 at 7 PM, Harbor School will be holding an Open House for prospective students from West Seattle and their families on their Vashon Island campus.

Harbor School, a non-profit, independent school, serving Grades 4 through 8, would like to introduce West Seattle families to a vibrant academic environment on Vashon Island – just a short ferry ride from Fauntleroy. Newly positioned to expand their student capacity, Harbor School has begun an active outreach program to West Seattle families.

Interested families are encouraged to attend the Open House and learn about the school’s programs and curriculum.

Head of School James Cardo will be on hand to answer questions about commuting to Vashon by ferry and our bus service; Harbor School faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions; and current Harbor School students will greet attendees and provide classroom tours. Refreshments will be provided.

Harbor School is located on Vashon Island, just a 20-minute ferry ride from Fauntleroy terminal. West Seattle families are especially encouraged to attend and find out about the benefits of an island education, plus details on ferry schedules and bus service to the school.

Harbor School is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2014-15 school year for openings in all grades – 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8.

West Seattle families should RSVP by phone at (206) 567-5955 or by email at info@harborschool.org. A shuttle bus will be provided for West Seattle attendees departing on the 6:00 PM Fauntleroy ferry and arriving on Vashon.

Shuttle Service offered for West Seattle guests: Harbor School will pick up attendees at the Vashon dock from Fauntleroy at 6:30 PM. The bus will return attendees to the Vashon dock in time for the 8:50 PM departure to Fauntleroy. Attendees must RSVP for shuttle service by Tuesday, November 11. Harbor School is also happy to offer a ferry ticket to residents of West Seattle who RSVP by Friday, November 8.

Admission packets will be available at the event. Application submission deadline for 2014-15 school year is February 28, 2014. Enrollment decisions are finalized by early March 2014.
