TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Monday in motion

(Live view from the east-facing WS Bridge camera; other cameras are on the WSB Traffic page)
Happy Monday! It’s the last week of school for most local students. For bus riders, it’s the first weekday since the Metro and Sound Transit “service changes” went into effect on Saturday – here’s a reminder of what they involve.

Wednesday = weekday. Wish I could blame it on iPhone auto-correct gone awry but no. Thanks.

Patt- it’s not just you. I tested it- on a PC/ IE10 route 50 schedule will not load there either- just has a bar ‘loading schedule data’. I was able to open up the 125 schedule though.

Patt – I can’t open the schedule for 50 on my computer either – other schedules open just fine.

patt, It looks like certain routes aren’t loading properly on Metro’s website (regardless of browser). 50, 17, and a few others.

I’ll send these notes to our Web guy to figure out what is going on. Thanks for your patience as we switched to a better online timetable format. We hope riders find them easier to read.

Now I’ve seen everything on the Rapid Ride. This morning there was a fellow on the bus who is deaf, mute, and almost totally blind. He had an ID around his neck and was sitting in the very frong seat with his guide dog. He had a friend along who was communicating with him via tapping and simplified sign language. The RR Fare Enforcement people came on and asked the fellow for his Orca or Transfer. He wasn’t responding, and the Fare Enforcement guy started almost yelling at him. The friend told the Fare Enforcement guy that the fellow was mute, deaf, and almost totally blind (anyone could see that, what with the dog and all). The Fare guy then starts in with the friend asking the friend to show proof of payment for the guy. The friend said he was not involved in that and that obviously the driver had let the guy on. Fare Enforcement guy seemed perturbed but finally let it go and moved on. Unbelieveable Metro !!!!!!

Our Web guy worked today to fix the online timetables where problems cropped up, including those listed here. If you come across more, email them to customer.comments@kingcounty.gov and they’ll get routed straight to him. Thanks again for your patience.

@iggy I’ll send your report to folks here who oversee fare enforcement. Let me know time, location and direction of the bus, please.

Jeff, it was the 10:47 am (FFerry time point) on June 10th going toward Downtown. Fare guys got on in the Junction around 11:00 am.
