Reminder that southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct will close in about half an hour for the first of five overnight closures scheduled this week – and every week into the fall. Those Sunday through Thursday night’s 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closures are the biggest traffic alerts for this week – the state explains them here. The week’s full list, broken out day to day, is ahead:

TONIGHT (SUNDAY 7/22): Southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closed between Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge, 10 pm-5 am.

MONDAY 7/23: Southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closed between Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge, 9 pm-5 am. Also, surface lane restrictions in SODO tonight related to the Spokane Street Viaduct Widening Project.

TUESDAY 7/24: Southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closed between Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge, 9 pm-5 am. Also, surface lane restrictions in SODO tonight related to the Spokane Street Viaduct Widening Project. ***NOTE: President Obama is scheduled to visit Seattle on this day. The schedule has not been announced as of our first publication of this story Sunday night, but we will update when it is, so you’ll know whether Boeing Field/downtown traffic might be affected, etc.**

WEDNESDAY 7/25: Southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closed between Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge, 9 pm-5 am. Also, surface lane restrictions in SODO tonight related to the Spokane Street Viaduct Widening Project.

THURSDAY 7/26: Southbound 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct closed between Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge, 9 pm-5 am. Also, surface lane restrictions in SODO tonight related to the Spokane Street Viaduct Widening Project.
