ADDED 11:30 PM: More on the WSHS win, ahead:
From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand:
Friday night the West Seattle Wildcats used the second and third quarters to kill the clock and put some serious distance between themselves and Rainier Beach as they cruised to a 28-8 win. The game saw West Seattle go-to running back Nikko Pablo Emm rest for most of the game while his teammates Dan Sullivan and George Edwards controlled the offense. Sullivan scored on a 45-yard pass play late in the first quarter and Edwards opened the second with an 82-yard reception, which moved the game out of reach for the Vikings.
Rainier Beach opened the second half by keeping the ball on the ground that saw them score in a little under four minutes. When West Seattle got the ball back after that touchdown, they held onto it for all but a minute of the third quarter. That drive saw them move the ball 77 yards in 14 plays, which led to this touchdown by George Edwards.
West Seattle picked up three interceptions. The last came with under a minute to go, which stopped Rainier Beach’s last drive down the field and into Wildcat territory.
