West Seattle scene: High Point playground officially opens

A little brisk this afternoon as High Point’s new playground – built in a day last Friday, with hundreds of volunteers pitching in – officially opened. But commemorative purple scarves from playground partner KaBOOM! kept community advocates warm:

The new playground is at Bataan Park on the east side of High Point.

So impressive, good work! It’s amazing we have volunteers like this in our community. It says a lot about our community.

Yahoo! I am so proud to live in High Point for many reasons and the community coming together to build this playground is just one more. Great work everyone! And a special thanks to Shukri Olow, SHA Community Builder, Heather Hutchison, OSA and HP HOA Manager and Denise Sharify, Neighborhood House & so many other NH staff, who worked tirelessly to get this off the ground in a very short amount of time. Way-to-go!

And I love that the young man (Audrey and Robert’s son) who was MOST vocal in our community meetings about kids having swings in High Point is pictured in the first photo on the new playground!

Sorry, comment time is over.
