Still speeding: Latest West Seattle notes from SPD

The Seattle Police website SPD Blotter has just published another of its occasional roundups on what the Aggressive Driver Response Team is up to, and it’s West Seattle-focused, like many in the past. The furthest-over-the-limit speeder noted this time is 73 mph on the 45 mph West Seattle Bridge; see the full SPD Blotter report here.

I’m curious how they are catching the people on the Spokane Street Viaduct portion of the bridge? Are they patrolling by air, as there is no where for a cop to sit on that section.

@SuperAwesome: They could have just been following behind a speeder who was unaware that they were there, or the speeder could have zoomed past an unmarked cruiser on the viaduct not knowing it was a cop. There are many ways they nab speeders.

    Excellent work, SPD!
