If you’ve never toured historic Alki Point Lighthouse – your chances for this year are running out. Liesbet T. shared photos after a tour last weekend, and pointed out that this weekend and the next weekend are your last chances in 2011 to take the free 1-4 pm Saturdays/Sundays tour.

That’s the northward view from the top of the 98-year-old lighthouse – two other angles, and a few interior sights, ahead:

That photo shows the view west to Bainbridge Island; below, you would be looking south toward Lincoln Park:

And here, you are looking down onto the staircase that goes to the top of the lighthouse – only four people allowed at a time (half-ton limit):

Matthew White and Will Winter were tour hosts last weekend, on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; Matthew is on the team again this weekend. The lantern you see is just like the first one ever used at the lighthouse, Liesbet points out:

Again, your last four chances to tour the lighthouse this year are 1-4 pm this Saturday and Sunday and next Saturday and Sunday. If somehow you’ve never been there – take Alki Avenue as far west as it goes, to the tip of Alki Point.
