West Seattle restaurants: Meander’s adds late-night eats

First we reported the expanding-next-door plans – now there’s more big news from Meander’s – late-night eats! Read on:

Miranda Krone has already proven that breakfast doesn’t end at noon – and now, it’s starting a lot sooner. You’ll soon be able to get Meander’s breakfasts at 2 am. Starting the last week in May, Meander’s will be open from 9pm to 3am Thursdays through Saturdays.

Responding to Beveridge Place Pub customers (including herself!) looking for more take-out options, Miranda felt that having Meander’s available would keep hungry people close to home.

“You know that people who leave taverns at 2 am shouldn’t be driving up to Green Lake (to Beth’s Cafe),” she admonishes. So Miranda has trained a new chef, Ed Kenoyer, who will cover the new night shift — “he looks really adorable in my aprons,” she says. And she promises a “surprise” server — someone already known to the neighborhood. “I decided we needed another loudmouth, bad-ass lady in here.”

The nighttime and take-out menus will be limited to certain breakfast options, and Miranda adds, “Even I’m looking forward to coming in (to eat!)”

Ed made my breakfast burrito last week and it was FAN-tastic. Thanks Ed! You know how to rock the burrito all by yourself. Nice to hear about the expansion and the longer hours, too.

I have said for 10 years we needed something JUST like this here in West Seattle! This will be a rockin place to go! Now I have to force myself to stay awake long enough to go try it!

Fantastic! This is really filling a need!

Go Miranda. You are top shelf.

I hope the new server is Lydia, formerly at Easy Street.

Another great thing about this late night eatery will be the high quality ingredients. Midnight dining tends to be trashy so I’m psyched to have homemade ketchup as an option.

A train wreck in the making…

    What a great idea.

    Comment by Nevada Street Guy:

A train wreck in the making…

You must have crashed one too many of your die-cast Lionel trains into your head to make a goofy comment such as that.

Or, you got run over by a Southern Pacific freight train in Reno, and are still recovering.

Good luck if either or both happened!

Ed makes a great scramble, and I must agree about the aprons :)

I’m betting Nevada Street Guy has never eaten at Meander’s….just a theory….

That comment may even have been intended for the Viaduct story- it does happen (although I’ll see that more often on Facebook, something totally out of left field when someone thought they were commenting on someone else’s page or profile) … I probably should have just nuked it since it seemed completely out of context, but too late now … TR

Way to go Miranda. You are doing pretty much what I would have liked to do with the restaurant (I looked, but wasn’t ready to take that leap yet). Keep up the good work, I really enjoy what you are doing there.

As wonderful as the food may be there are alot of apartment buildings surrounding the restaurant and the noise level is getting absurd! Almost every night we can hear people shouting and laughing. You would think we lived next to a night club or worse. The windows must be open all night and the other night two customers tied up their dogs at three am and let them bark constantly for over an hour and a half! I suggest they keep windows and doors closed and put some fans in because if the noise level does not calm down, neighbors are talking and we will start fighting back.

Sorry, comment time is over.
