West Seattle food: 2 truck updates – Marination and Buns

2 quick food-truck updates to share: Kamala from the fabled Marination Mobile e-mailed to say they will be closing early tomorrow (Saturday) during their regular weekly Saturday stop at 35th/Graham – 1:30 instead of 2 pm. Also, Amy of the new burger truck Buns on Wheels asked us to share the news that they’re now spending most of the weekend at Alki – Friday nights, Saturday all day, Sunday lunch. (We’re checking on exact hours.) They’ve been parking by Alki Auto Repair. Food trucks tend to send last-minute updates via Twitter, so if you want to keep close track of these two, MM is at @curb_cuisine and BoW is at @bunsonwheels.

And still no taco truck on Fauntleroy….

Hey Tacos Bravo, you are mediocre in any case, and not very good at following through with your plans. I’m going to talk to the Tacos Maestro people and see if they want to expand to our area. Lots of money to be made from hungry W. Seattle gringos and gringas.

Yea, what’s going on? It’s been over a year since it was announced!

Tacos el Asadero, the bus down on Rainier Ave. before you get to Columbia City, out of the dozen or so trucks I’ve been to, best I’ve had. Though West Seattle has the second best. Taqueria La Fondita down in White Center. Excellent choice. Plus fresh fire roasted corn right next door.

Buns has a limited menu right now(“Beta” menu with future items “greyed out”.) The Burgers look really good and they have a little counter area to sit at. They’ve been here for dinner the last two days and they’re doing great business.

BTW does anyone know what happened to Bikini Beach Pizza who had been set up in the same spot for most of July?

Mark, YES, both of those places are excellent choices, if I happen to be in their area. All those vacant parking lots on Fauntleroy, and the promise of expanding there by an already established business, even if they aren’t the best in the city, has had me on tenterhooks for over a year, as the story JBL linked to points out.
So some other neighborhood has good taco trucks. Well whoop-ti-friggin-doo, I want one in MY neighborhood!

Sorry, comment time is over.
