West Seattle totem pole’s re-installation still on for tomorrow

As first reported here last week, along with photos of the newly repainted West Seattle Rotary Viewpoint Park totem pole, its reinstallation is set for tomorrow. The restoration experts from Artech who’ve been working on it tell WSB the trucks will arrive around 9, the activity will intensify around 10. The Rotary Club of West Seattle isn’t having the rededication ceremony till August 10th, but if all goes well tomorrow, the 34-year-old pole — stolen last Nov. 30th — will be back in place (35th/Alaska) by afternoon.

Will be nice to see the Totem back in the park. Even after all this time, it still is strange to NOT see it as I am driving down 35th. Can’t wait to see it back!

It looks so lovely with the new paint! It’s been missed and it will be nice to have it home.

I’ll certainly be glad when the totem pole is back in the park.

But I certainly wish the man that stole it would have spent some time in jail. Why didn’t he?

I haven’t seen an update but is the man who helped find it going to see it put back?

I hope for him and his family he is.

I have really missed driving by the totem pole. It gave me the feeling I was living in a special place.

Sorry, comment time is over.
