West Seattle scenes, with a focus on the weather

Checking through the inboxes to make sure we didn’t miss anything good during another busy, crazy week, we have a few photos to share: Several people photographed the vivid Thursday sunset – the version above is from Dan E. And remember the Jefferson Square sign putting us in triple-digit heat last weekend? What a difference a few days make:

Brian sent us that photo of the J-Square sign in subzero mode. (He took it earlier this week, but we happened to be within line of sight of that sign this afternoon and can confirm it’s still in subzero mode!)

    That sign cracks me up.

Did it get that cold this winter?

When mr. deb and I passed that sign earlier last week, it reported that it was 126 degrees. Awesome! I hope they don’t fix it.

I miss out on all the fun! :P

    .

I went to J Square last Tuesday, which was post the sweltering temp story, and the temp was appropriate for the actual conditions.

    .

Now, it’s been showing arctic temps, and I miss out on that too! :(

    .

Although it may having been showing sub-zero when I was there, and just didn’t see the minus sign.

    .

And to think how impressed I’d been when they installed the digital set-up, to replace the old analog clock, that in roughly 20 years of use, I don’t think any if the four clock faces agreed with any of the others, let alone any single one of them actually being accurate! ;)

Oh, the always-incorrect public clocks! I find this particularly maddening.

The one at Westwood Village (on the corner of 25th & Trenton) STILL has not been re-set since the days-long power outage in ’07, was it?

Sorry, comment time is over.
