County Assessor Scott Noble breaks his silence

Thanks to Jules for the tip that Beach Drive resident Scott Noble, now back to work as King County Assessor, has done an interview with channel 5 TV, and that media crews have been milling in the area all day. Here’s the first online version of the story – the video clip promotes a longer version to be shown on the station’s 11 pm newscast.

    A “recovering alcoholic?” Oh brother.

JH…do you persnally know a recovering alcoholic? It’s a lifelong struggle….it’s not something to scoff at. Mr. Noble unfortunately found out (and will find out) the consequences of falling off the wagon. He may go to jail….and he will forever remember the women that he injured in this accident. But please don’t treat his statement of being a “recovering alcoholic” as an excuse…it just is what it is, a fact of his life.

I don’t know this man , but I do know some recovering alcoholics. It’s definitely a demon for these people.

He needs to do the right thing and resign.
He is charged with a felony and he nearly killed two innocent people.
Disease or no disease he made a choice to get behind the wheel of a car while sloppy ass drunk.

    Man up and resign.
I hope the 2 women injured by him sue him for everything they can.

I’m not scoffing Jan. Oh wait. I am! And I’m simply stating that his remark as a “recovering alcoholic” seems false, considering he was drunk off his a** and lucky he didn’t kill anyone. A stupid remark on his part. If he was “recovering” he wouldn’t have been driving drunk. He’s an alcoholic. Plain and simple. Leave the “recovering” adjective out. It may be a demon to him, but he’s worse of a demon to the victims and potential victims out there. I just hope he goes into recovery…and jail!

And yes, I know recovering alcoholics. And they are RECOVERING, not drinking and driving and almost killing people. And I agree with Jimmy!

Remember that people in Noble’s position and in other jobs such as law enforcement are held at a much higher standard. They must behave off-duty also!

Sorry JH I wish it were that way but it’s not – just reference the behavior or the “Iron Pigs” M/C gang shooting regards to a couple of SPD members..

I read what JH wrote to say as- they should be held accountable at a higher standard because they are on duty 24/7, I don’t want to speak for someone else but I think that is what was meant.

    Thanks Pam! Exactly.

Sorry, comment time is over.
