West Seattle scenes: Hooping it up

That video is from tonight’s Family Fun Night Sock Hop (check the golden-oldies music!) at Fauntleroy Schoolhouse, presented by the Seattle Civic Concert Dancers. SCCD is based at Seattle Civic Dance Theater school, one of the tenants at the schoolhouse, the purchase of which (as we reported earlier today) is not yet a done deal. Seattle Civic Concert Dancers’ performance schedule — you can see them at Fauntleroy Fall Festival on October 19th! — can be found here.

My girls have been dancing at Seattle Civic Dance theatre for over 13 years and it has been a wonderful experience. The girls learn pose, respect, and most of all, the great time of dancing in the community. Over the last couple of years, the Seattlc Civic Concert Dancers,(the non-profit dance group of Seattle Civic Dance Theatre) have performed at The Kenney Retirement Community, Providence Mount St. Vincent, and this year will include Admiral Heights Assisted Living(and don’t forget the Fall Festival). Making a difference in our community is what dance is all about.

I can’t begin to tell you how great it has been watching my kids go from 3 to 18, morph into graceful dancers and wonderful people.

I’m so glad we found this dance studio years ago.
